Bath & Body Works Antibacterial Hand Gel

First off, my blogger won't let me comment on your blogs!
Does anyone know why it might be happening? It keeps saying I'm not signed in as a blogger, and when I click sign in, I'm already signed in, and when I sign in on the comment box, it puts me as anonymous! Is it a setting on my computer? How frustrating!

Anyway - I just got over a cold!

So naturally, when Bath and Body works had a sale on for hand sanitizer, I had to snatch a few. I got 5 sanitizers + 2 sanitizer holders for $5.

The scents I picked up are Midnight Pomegranate, Warm Vanilla Sugar, Vanilla Berry Sorbet, Summer Escape, and my favourite Island Nectar . (You can check out more here)

I love, love, love these antibacterial hand gels because they don't end up smelling like alcohol after they dry on your hands! I also got two of their little squishy bottle holder things? haha I have no idea what to call them. But basically they are so you can attach them to the zipper of your bag! Mine are in bright orange and sparkly purple.... :)

Revlon Scented Nail Polish

I was at Shoppers Drug Mart the other day, and decided I wanted some new nail polish colours!
The new Revlon Scented Nail Polish's were on sale... so I picked up this colour called Gumdrop.

It's a very light purple lilac-y colour.
The first coat was very sheer, it took three or four coats for each nail to get the shade I wanted.

So far, I love it! It did smell like bubblegum ... but only for about ten minutes after it dried.
But I went to the mall afterward and three random people in different stores complimented me on my nails!

Review: Shower Jellies

A little while ago, I purchased this Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly from Lush!

Sweet and sophisticated fruitiness. Lashings of blackcurrant and bergamot
essential oils in a sour cherry and coconut jelly make this about as fruity as
you can get. It is incredibly difficult to resist taking a spoonful. Instead,
take a handful and smooth it over your hair and body. Passing strangers will
smell you and find their minds wandering to fruit pastilles.

How to use:
Shower jellies are one of our most
innovative products and there are many fun ways to use them. You can crush them
into a shower pouf to create a rich lather or rub them directly on your body.
Try freezing (or chilling) them for an especially cool, refreshing shower or
bath experience. Shower jellies also make great shampoos and add lots of
softness and shine to hair.

Available in two different sized jars
100g ($5.95 CAN)
240g ($10.95 CAN)

*Smells like black cherry pop (yum!)
*Easy, frothy lather
*Doesn't leave your skin covered in sparkles
*Less than half a teaspoon is enough for entire body

Overall, I definitely recommend this product
if you love sweet smells. It's one of my new favourites! I just wish the smell lasted a little longer ;)

Expensive vs Alternative

TGIAF!
(Thank God It's Almost Friday)
It's about 11:21pm, so I figure it's fair to say :]
Hope everyone had a wonderful week - what are your weekend plans?

Lately I've been trying a lot of new products, some expensive, some cheaper!

Gel Liners:Coastal Scents Gel Liner (True Black) - $6.95

Pros:
*Cheap
*Buildable
*Potent
*Lots of colours

Cons:
*Dries out quickly
*Leaves fallout
*Clumps
*Smudges

MAC Fluidline (BlackTrack) - $15.00
Pros:
*Buildable
*Potent
*Smooth
*Waterproof/smudgeproof
*Doesn't dry out

Cons:
*Expensive
*Not many colours

Overall:
If you have never tried a Gel liner before and are considering buying one without knowing for sure if you like it, or if you are going to use a lot in a small amount of time - go for the Coastal Scents gel liner. (Just make sure to apply some pressed powder eye shadow over top to help set it in place!)
But if you are an avid gel liner user like myself, I would definitely invest in a MAC Fluidline. I can't believe the difference between the formulas - I fell in love with this product from day 1! It stays nicely all day, and goes on so smoothly. It's almost like ink!

Personally, I recommend the MAC Fluidline for everyday use.

Hello, loves!

Hello everyone. I think I am finally ready to come back again! After a really rough past 2 months or so, I think I'm ready to move on from my funk and get back to normal life again.

Hope everyone has been well! :)

Today, I am going to share one of my biggest loves!
Anything with... silhouetted birds!

Bird Necklace - Via Ruche

Bird Scarf - Via Ruche

Bird Wallet - Found this on google, from Amy Kenny

And finally, my new tattoo!

I always migrate towards pieces with silhouetted birds - almost could call it a "signature" I guess!

What's your "signature"?

Sorry everyone...

Sorry once again for my absense. I've always tried to follow "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all"... so honestly, that is why I have not been blogging. It has been a very stressful past couple weeks filled with racism in workplace (I'm once again unemployed in this new city because of awful work ethics displayed by others), uncertainty, and an awful, messy breakup. It's been really rough. Sorry & Thanks for understanding.

Shatter!

Although I've never really gotten into her music, I love this Katy Perry nailpolish!

To my understanding, you put any colour you want underneath (My best friend, Savannah put a really pretty electric blue on), and put this black nail polish that peels away leaving that scratched effect! It looks really cool... but I am not sure how long I would be able to go without picking it off! :)

In recent news - I GOT A JOB TODAY :) I am now an optometrist assistant... I get to poof air into people's eyes! Score!

Have a great week!!!

New Rooms!

There was a flood before I moved into my new room in Lethbridge which left me with no flooring for a while, but at the end of the month my room with be finished! (Hopefully!) Also, my boyfriend is moving into his own place at the beginning of April. All this talk about new rooms got me excited and I started looking up new decor (I'm not really sure why... I've never gotten into interior design or renovations of any kind! haha!) But I found some pretty cute things... all from Urban Outfitters

($40.00 Wall Flowers)

($28.00 Bird Door Hanger... how cute is that :))

($78.00 Douvet Cover "Love is all you need")

($34.00 Pillowcase)

($34.00 Pillow Case)

($34.00 Pillow Case)

($34.00 Pillow Case)

I think I might make some DIY pillow cases :)

Sale, sale, sale! (Sephora)

Sephora has some products on sale that I've been looking at lately... here's a few good ones :)

I love this Sephora brand combination kit because you can take each square out, and fold it up in the little travel case for on the go :) Each has 6 eyeshadows, 1 blush and 1 lipgloss.
($155 value, reg. price $34, on sale for $25!)

This Stila travel palette would be so nice to just throw in my bag when I'm going home for the weekend.
(Reg. $65, on sale for $10)
This one is called Adventurous in Aspen... they have a few others too! Finally, the Urban Decay Show Pony Shadow Box! I love the glittery peachy-pink, the brown and the purple in this one. I also love that it comes with a 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero (black) and a sample size primer potion!
(Reg. $30, on sale for $16!)

As you can probably tell, I'm definitely a bit of an eyeshadow junkie ;)
What's your favourite cosmetic to shop for?

PRINTS!

During the Winter, I find I'm always wearing more solids... but now that it is time for Spring, I'm hoping to get some prints in my closet! :)

(From LuLu's)

(From Bootlegger)

Hope you all had a great weekend!
Mine was very relaxing... I watched Fiddler on the Roof again! (And have been singing and dancing like Tevye ever since) and tonight my boyfriend is taking me out for a movie date :)

Plateau.

My cousin Karen (that I live with now) and I have started our major weight loss plan this month.
This week I have really started to plateu. I lost five pounds in the two weeks before, so this week I stepped it up (Added extra 10 minutes of cardio and been eating perfectly) and nothing! Grrrr, plateau's are really discouraging :(
Anybody have some good pointers of shortening, or avoiding a weight loss plateau?!

Day 6: A picture of something that makes you happy

The SPEC Association for Children and Families
I know it doesn't look like the most cheerful place... but I love it. I have been involved somehow in this association for almost 11 years! It is a non-profit organization that is a collaboration of Boys and Girls Club, Links, ParentLINKCentre, Family Support and Connections. It is where I worked for the past three and a half years, and my momma works there :)
When I go home to Brooks for the weekend, I stop here (At "Home number 1") before actually going to my house! I miss it very much, and all the amazing people there. It is like a really big family :) It is my favourite place to be in Brooks.

MAC snob?

A few months ago is when I started purchasing more "high-end" makeup. I never really had any before... and the difference in a lot of it was pretty amazing. A lot of products really impressed me, but others... not so much. But I was thinking of all the ones I loved, and they are all MAC products! Here are my first MAC Purchases.
My first MAC Eyeshadow was in the colour Woodwinked. I love this colour because it can be spread across your lid for a base colour, or built up for a darker crease colour. I use it just about everyday, and it almost looks like I haven't used any in the past three months. It is so pigmented! ($14.50 for singles)

I have mentioned Lustreglass' in a few different posts. I love the vanilla-y taste, the way it just tints my lips and the amount of sparkle. They're just pretty :) ($14.50) I am in love with my Natural Mineralized Skinfinish (in light-medium) It isn't full coverage, but it's just enough to cover my red blemishes and set my foundation. It's very silky and I love how I can't even feel it on my face. ($27.00)

My Fix+! ♥ I love this product so so so much. It sets your makeup so perfectly... and it has a really refreshing scent that is almost addictive. This is definitely something I will be buying right away! ($19.00)

I am thinking of trying their foundation... any reviews?

Do you have a favourite MAC product?

Monday, February 28, 2011

Love these!

($36.50 at Bootlegger)
($55.00 at Bootlegger)

($89.00 at Bootlegger)

Happy Monday!
It's noon, and I just got home from a -35ish walk to my boyfriends house to drop of a letter. Brrrr. He checks the mailbox out of habit everytime he goes in and out of the house, so I thought it would be cute to leave him something :) Now I'm waiting for my cousin to get back from classes so we can work out, and I will be applying for more jobs! What have you done today?

Day 5 - A song to match your mood.

Me and my cousin have been blaring this song tonight. I think I love living here :)

Day 4 - Your Parents

My Mom and I at my High School Graduation last May.And my Dad!

Just like my sister Meghan said, there are lots of pictures of them together back home, but I have none on my computer or here at my house, but I should steal one! They have some really cute ones :)

My Mom is a huge inspiration ... to everyone she meets. it's kind of crazy when I can walk into a grocery store or something (even here in another city!) and people will stop me and know who I am - or at least that I'm 'MOE'S DAUGHTER!!!" - and tell me how amazing she is. I can honestly say I have never heard anyone say anything bad about her. But I have head many people tell me how she has changed their lives or just made their day a little better :) She is very hardworking and very funny. I love having conversations with her in Irish accents and singing along to oldies in the car ... or lately, singing along to SNOW PATROL together in the car... I know right? She's pretty cool.

I don't really remember my Dad much because he passed away when I was about to turn four. I remember a few things... like that he snored really loud, he liked Western movies and really old country music, and always wore those t-shirts with the breast-pocket. And we have a family Christmas video at home and he laughs just like Fred Flinstone! I hear that I look a lot like him, and my Mom used to tell me that all my stubborn and argumentative sides were from him ;)

SPRING FEVER

I want spring/summer so badly! I have been looking at dresses & skirts waiting for when it finally gets warm enough here to wear them. These are all from H&M.

I love this skirt!

I really love pinks and corals this year... I am not sure if I can pull it off with my skin tone, but I'm determined to find a shade that looks okay!
