Award ♥

Thank you muchly to my lovely, lovely sister Meghan for passing on this award :)

Now, gotta think of seven things to share about myself... hmm!

1) I'm a shopaholic! When I'm not working, or in the city shopping, you can usually find me at home online shopping for one thing or another; particularly clothes and cosmetics. Considering how much time I spend making up "wishlists" and "shopping lists" online, I am proud of how much I've actually managed NOT to buy ;)

2) My favourite colour is by far purple. Everything is purple. My phone case, my blanket, my walls, my favourite sweater. It's in my jacket, my mittens, my scarf, my wallet... People I shop with laugh at me, because I'm instantly drawn to anything that colour

3) When I was in middle school I shaved my entire head for cancer. It took a while to get used to (I used to sit in class and try to tuck my non-existent hair behind my ears!) but I never regretted it, and it's still something I'm very proud of, and it still surprises me sometimes!

4) My biggest role model has always been my older sister, Megs! Growing up my mom was always really busy (can't blame her!), and most of my childhood memories are with my sister. Even though she always made me sit in the back seat of the car "because Big-bird said so", I've always really admired her and aspired to be like her. She is the reason I started playing music, getting into fashion, and working out... 3 of my favourite things :)

5) It's only this past year that I've really acknowledged my femininity (that word was really hard to type!) I was never really into makeup, had my hair straight everyday, didn't wear jewelry, and wore indie band t-shirts and jeans with my converse shoes just about everyday. I guess a lot can happen in a year! This year, I love experimenting with hair and makeup styles, and wearing lots of girly clothes and jewelry. Weird.

6) I am afraid of really silly things ... Worms and minnows. It wouldn't seem so insane if I didn't love snakes and sharks....

7) The Association I work at now, I have been a part of (in some way or another) for nearly ELEVEN YEARS. I love the people and atmosphere there, and it's become a huge part of who I am. Which makes me a little sad to be giving my two-weeks notice tomorrow. I am moving to a new city, which is very exciting! I am ready to leave the "city" I live in now, but it will be hard to leave work.

Thank you, baby :)

Hello Everyone!
It's almost time for my blogging schedule to get back to normal :) Sorry about the lack of posts, again!
I hope you've all had a fantastic week, any plans this weekend?
This weekend I will be on the couch...
I just had all four wisdom teeth out yesterday... ouch! But all things considered my recovery is going very well. :) But I'm very swollen, and can't talk very well!

Before and after my dentist appointment, I spent some time with my boyfriend, Jordan.
Before the appointment....We finally had time for "our Christmas", and he got me the perfect present...

(Excuse the bad picture... I promise my skin doesn't look so blotchy, and my hair doesn't look so broken in real life ;) )

He got me this beautiful silver heart locket, and I love it so much! I have been wanting one for years, so I was very excited when I got this. It is definitely something I would have picked for myself :) Thank you, Jordan! ♥
Isn't it pretty?! I am going to be wearing it all the time now!

Now, after the appointment... I went back to Jordans house for a couple hours before heading back home. Now, keep in mind I just had surgery... I had gauze in my mouth, was really incoherent, drooling - just overall, definitely not at my best... but I need to say thank you again to my boyfriend for being the biggest sweetheart ever. He brought me blankets, slippers, water, gauze and lots of cuddles and forhead kisses which made me feel so much better! He`s too cute :)

Have a great weekend!

"Furt"

I am a total GLEEk. This is my favourite song right now, from my favourite episode. It made me so happy!

Oh no! It's got me!

Warning: this is a bit of a jumbled post :)

For my birthday this year, my sister Meghan got me my first Lush products! (The Wild Child gift set)

This picture has some different things than mine did in it, but it's almost the same! It came with Rock star soap, bubblegum lip scrub, happy hippie body/hair wash and a sugar body scrub.... and I LOVE it. These products make me feel soo clean and make my skin so soft; I think I have a new addiction! Thanks Megs :)

So, Merry LATE Christmas again everyone! Did you get what you were hoping for?
I definitely got spoiled with a very girly Christmas this year. Almost everything I got was clothes, jewelry or cosmetic related which is wonderful!

This is my third week being sick... each week has been something different! But I prefer this one over the flu. I hope your New Year started much more healthier than mine!
I hope everyone had a very happy new year! Any resolutions?
I am going to continue my weight-loss this year. I got half way to my goal in a year, so hopefully I am all done this year! :)

Happy Holidays!

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas (if you celebrate it... if not, what do you celebrate? :)) I apologize for my lack of posts; it has been an interesting past couple of weeks! Between kidney stones and getting ready for Christmas... it's just been crazy. Also, today was my 18th birthday! Which means I am officially legal in the province I live in! But unfortunately... I spent the entire day with an awful flu that has kept me up so long I`m not sure if my body remembers how to sleep anymore! (Sure seems like it doesn`t) But I`m off to try again :)

Happy Holidays!

Cute kids and Kidney Stones!?

...I love the smell of kidney stones in the morning... not!
I can't work until it passes which makes me very sad... I work quite a bit (About 10 hours a day) but I love it. I was at work when it first started, I had no idea what it was and got rushed to the ER. But my mom was there, so it was okay :) We ended up playing weird hospital games to make it seem better than it was.
Part of what I do in a day is work as a casual youth worker for Boys and Girls Club, so when my mom went back to the office to tell them what had happened, she came back to the hospital with cards from kids for me! I'm sorry the picture is sideways... it won't let me fix it today!

The good side to being home... I get to watch more Ellen! I am a major Ellen fan... until I worked this much, I watched her every day! Now I will get to again for the next few...
Greyson Chance got his debut on Ellen... it is a pretty cool story, you should check him out! He's such an adorable kid haha I love in his interviews how he is always so stoked about everything. And I love this song :)

I also want his piano... I love word art like that.

It will just take a second to click :)

I always get these emails from ONE. I always sign the petition and email it off to a few people, but I've decided to also post a few on here! It just takes a second; all you have to do is click the link to make a difference! :)

Original email:

Today, as we mark World AIDS Day, I wanted to share something that isn't often said—good news about real, tangible, life-saving progress. Today, 6,500 fewer children will die of diseases like AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria or pneumonia than just 5 years ago.

It's staggering to me that with the right support we can make such a big difference, and it goes to show what can be achieved when people call for governments to act. However there is more to do—in fact, despite these amazing advances, over 1,000 children are born every day with HIV. It's a heart breaking fact, yet what makes it even harder to swallow is that this can easily be prevented through a simple treatment given to women during pregnancy.

Please click here to sign our petition asking leaders to finish the job and make sure no child is born with HIV:
http://one.org/international/actnow/nochild/o.pl?id=2060-4078321-x9r.wWx&t=3

Dear World Leaders,
By 2015 we can make sure no child is born with HIV. It all starts with an agreement at the United Nations to combat extreme poverty, with every country doing their bit. Please do yours. Thank You.

Help ensure that mothers get the medicines they need so that by 2015 no child is born with HIV. It sounds ambitious, but we know what progress can be made in just 5 years, so please join me today.

Together as ONE we can make a difference.

Thanks!
